Biography
Aoife Dwyer is a printmaker and educator based in Dublin. In 1998 she graduated from National College of Art and Design, Dublin, with a BA honours degree in Fine Art. Aoife has been selected for many group exhibitions including the RHA and RUA annual exhibitions. Her work is included in public and private collections including the Office of Public Works, RTE, and DLR County Collection. Dwyer makes works that show residual marks of everyday life, such as the scratches on a tin dustpan, gathered dust, or steam on a window. These found drawings are incidental and so often overlooked. Through the process of printing varied layers, with a painterly approach, the found drawings begin to read as horizons, seascapes, and landscapes.
