Biography

Santina Farinella is a visual artist based in Dun Laoghaire. A recent graduate of the Higher Diploma in Fine Art from the National College of Art and Design (NCAD), she also holds a Certificate in Visual Arts Practice also from NCAD. Santina primarily works with oils, watercolours and drawing media, creating initial images outdoors before translating these into larger-scale works in her studio. Working in the rain, wind, and the shifting light of sunrise and sunset Santina immerses herself in the landscape, creating immediate, fluid and emotive responses that focus on colour and gestural marks and form a starting point for her contemporary landscapes.
