Biography
Originally from Dublin, Siobhan Cuffe hails from a family of artists and collectors, and is a graduate of the School of Architecture in U.C.D. Cuffe later found an interest in printmaking and studied etching from master printmakers John Kelly in the Graphic Studio, Dublin, and W.S. Hayter at Atelier 17, Paris. She has since become a member of the Leinster Print Studio, the Fynsgrafiskevaerksted in Denmark, and the Graphic Studio, Dublin.
In recent years Siobhan Cuffe has made a suite of etchings entitled “A Walk Through St. Stephen’s Green”. The works show serene images of Dubliners enjoying one of the most regaled parts of the city. Stephen’s Green, being one of the best loved urban spaces in Dublin, has remained in use much as it was during Joyce’s time and is a constant source of joy and refreshment for visitors and Dubliners alike.
Cuffe’s etchings are in many collections at home and abroad including The Irish Writer’s Centre, the Dublin Corporation Libraries, and Irish Embassies around the world. She has exhibited in the R.H.A. in Dublin and in the Royal Academy summer show in London.
